Mendoza Wine Region, Argentina

Mendoza is synonymous to wine as 2/3 of Argentina’s production is done in this region. The high altitudes and close proximity to the Andes Mountains makes it a great place for wine, especially the renowned Malbecs of Argentina. Visiting here in May meant it was approaching winter season, providing some great views of snow capped mountains overlooking the vineyards. My winery tour visited 3 different bodegas (wine houses), each with plenty of wines to drink and food to eat.

Excursion to see Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in South America. The mountain peak is situated very close to the Chilean border. Lots of interesting geological formations can seen on the drive there.
