Dijon, Beaune, Lyon, and Grenoble, France
Road tripping through the Burgundy wine region of France was an amazing way to see the smaller French cities and the rural towns of Burgundy. The journey started in Dijon after taking a train in from Zurich, Switzerland. From Dijon, the trip took me south to Beaune and many famous wine communes of Burgundy in between. From there, the journey took me to Lyon and then Grenoble, where I caught up with a friend who took me paragliding through the French Alps.
Dijon

Beaune
The city is known for this famous hospital: Hospices de Beaune (Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune). This charitable hospital built in the 1400’s is a relic and must see when visiting Beaune, complete with the original hospital beds and setup.

Lyon
Some of the best French cuisine can be found in this city that is known for its food.

Grenoble

Annecy
On the drive back to Geneva from Grenoble, I passed through this charming town of Annecy near the Swiss border close to Geneva. Right off Lake Annecy, it was the perfect place for a break and stroll in the morning hours for a croissant and coffee.
